OFN41: The Policy Future We Must Shape

With shifting priorities and ongoing uncertainty at the federal level, CDFIs can’t afford to wait on Washington alone. State and local governments are increasingly shaping policies, programs, and funding streams that directly affect CDFIs and the communities they serve. This session will highlight why CDFIs should invest in advocacy closer to home, where decision-makers are often more accessible, responsive, and open to partnership. State CDFI leaders with a proven record of success will share practical strategies for engaging legislators, building coalitions, and making the case for CDFIs at the state and local level.

Remarks: Dafina Williams, Opportunity Finance Network

Moderator: Mary Scott Balys, Opportunity Finance Network

Panel: Leah Fremouw, Virgina CDFI Coalition; Matt Hull, Texas CDFI Coalition; Noni Ramos, California Coalition for Community Investment
